This website was created to provide a virtual peep into my world as an art teacher, art
lover, and artist. It is a shout out to fellow art teachers and students. The site is named
for my Magenta, our Boston Terrier baby, and alludes to seeing the world through rose
colored glasses.
I've been teaching art for 20 years and work with "dream" students at Eastside High
School in Gainesville, Florida. At EHS we have beginning art, AP art, and IB
(International Baccalaureate) art. I earned my PhD in art education from Florida State
University. I serve as Secondary Arts Liaison for Alachua County and chairperson of the
Gainesville Art in Public Places Trust. I exhibit my watercolor paintings and
photographs locally.
Yahoo Pagebuilder was used to build this site, with Picasa photo editing/managing
software and an Epson 3170 photo scanner. Most photos were taken with a Nikon
Coolpix 7900 digital (older pix are from an Olympus D370 or Olympus C2040). Mozilla
Firefox is the preferred browser.
